The Blind Leading the Blind

You wanted to dispute proven facts!
I wanted to get down to brass tacks!
Why did you trust the liars and fools?
Was it because they uneducated you
When you went to their dumb schools?

We could have gotten past that but you still believed the ones they made.
You just wouldn't let go of all the people who kept making you feel afraid.

I won't fear them or their odd lies
And I began letting you go when
You wouldn't understand or recognize
The truth is never dependent on them!

We could have made and loved our very own reality.
I really wanted to always give you every piece of me,
But you made it impossible cuz you didn't wanna see.

I'm on my own and I'm safer this way.
I'm fine or you can even say I'm okay.
At least I don't have to worry about half of me singing a wrong melody.
Lies kill and you don't see that you put a wedge between you and me.

I said I wanted to write poems and songs about my love for just you,
But when the woman you love loves liars more, what would you do?

My circumstances didn't change me,
But she became dangerous, you see.
Her plan was poor because she wasn't smart enough to do it all,
But she planned and plotted a number of ways to watch me fall.
Her sister found a quicker way to betray cuz her mind isn't as small.

Be careful my friends because the ties that bind could slay you!
Before you know it, she'll even say she wants to pray with you,
But she'll actually be preying on you.
